what's coming up...

i met izzy at the city this afternoon (during 4th period). not sure what i was doing there, but luckily derek reminded me to bring the checkbook, just in case. why else would i be needed, right?
turns out we were getting permits for electrical, plumbing, sewer and the a/c. it ended up taking FOREVER because they needed the number of decibels put out by the a/c, which he didn't have, and then had to make a phone call to get. then they also wanted a copy of the plans, to make a photocopy of it so that it could go with the a/c permit, showing where it is to be located (specifically). so he had to go back to the house to get the site plans. all the time, i kept thinking, 'doesn't the city have a copy of the plans? can't they use that to make a copy?' but who am i? oh well. again, it took forever.
oh yeah! at one point, when izzy was drawing in the location of the 2 units and their distances from the walls, she asked what the rooms were that were next to the units. he told her they were bedrooms. so she turned to me and asked me where the beds were going to be located. i was like, 'what?! how the heck would i know that now??' she then said something about how you wouldn't want the bed to be right on the other side of the wall from the unit--especially if they are kids. still. what's she going to want next? the location of the rest of the furniture in the house?!

while waiting, i kept checking the time, because i knew class started around 12:30ish. about 12:20, i borrowed izzy's phone (because of course, i left mine at school) to call jennifer to help me get the class started. sort of a good thing that they were taking a test, because she could easily get them started.
i didn't get back until 12:50. sheesh. it took them forever (again) to tally up the price of all those things, and it came out $900 even.

anyhow. while waiting, i asked him what they were working on. he said they were still preparing the foundation, and that tomorrow, they are awaiting inspeaction. on friday they will pour the foundation, and on monday, materials will be delivered to start building the frame. he also said that he ordered all the windows, so that when they are done in 2-3 weeks, they should be ready for them.

wow!
pics later, since i haven't even been by there yet today.
